» JohnnySilver - Sci-Fi is short for Science Fiction

In response to Sci-Fi is short for Science Fiction posted by Puppetmaster:
Don't mistake my purpose; I also think we need the classifications...and you're dead on about "Star Wars"...the science elements are just a "repaint" to borrow a term from the action figure marketers. It could play equally well in a western or medieval setting. It's a "quest/coming of age" story. This gets back to the literary truism that there are really only a very limited number of plot/story types and the physical texture of the story is merely set dressing.
