Thanks for starting up a discussion. I'll forgive your spelling errors if you forgive mine.

Please allow me to talk about each movie you selected. I haven't put out my all time favorite movie list yet, I'll do that someday.

BEST-

10) Bram Stoker's Dracula-I liked the movie. I thought the acting and the filming was great. I thought some of the raw sexuality was there for just shock value, but the whole movie was beautiful.

9)Braindead-Never saw it. I will now though.

8) Hostel-Again, I don't care for this movie. Things like this do happen, but so did United 93. I want to escape from reality, not see horror that can happen. Just my preference.

7) Seven-An almost perfect movie. Not quite horror like you said, but still horrible enough. So shocking and brillant that you can't take your eyes off the screen. An ending that still gets me choked up.

6) Jaws-I saw this movie again a few weeks back and I'm scared of my bathtub again. A terrific score, great frights and good acting. You can't ask for more.

5) Cannibal Holocaust-Never saw it, sounds good though.

4) The Hills Have Eyes-I saw the original when I was very young, and was impressed with it. Mostly the idea of how the attackers kept coming out of nowhere. The new one is okay, but I don't like the gore. The acting was good though.

3) Silence of the Lambs-Scary, scary, scary. The idea of these sick killers, and the control they have over people, both mentally and phyiscally scared me. Is there anyone better than Hopkins?

2) Saw 1-Again, a great flick. Original, moving, scary, a brand new take on old ideas. Ruined almost, but the sequels.

1) The Shining-Is there anything creepier than those twin girls in the hallway telling him to "stay with us forever and ever?" Seeing this movie when I was younger scarred me for life. I've visted the real Stanley (I live in Colorado) and I was scared the whole time. Great acting, great direction...again, a perfect movie.

WORST FILMS:

10) Jaws 4. No you don't need to say more...anything after 2 is trash.

9) The Exorcist. I was worried you meant the original, which still makes me pee my pants. The new one is rubbish.

8) The Ring. Are you kidding? I love the first Ring movie. New, scary, great premise, great scenes. You're out of your mind.

7) Scream 2. Scream anything. Those movies were junk. Cheap junk trying to make jokes at the expense of a genre that never took itself seriously.

6) Jeepers Creeper? Again, this is madness. A slow movie, lulls you into a false sense of security than WHAM! Eating peoples eyes! Love this flick.

5) EX of Emily Rose. Yeah, the sadness of the true story bothered me. Some great scary scenes, but overall, it just bothered me thinking about what that family and others went through.

4) Urband Legends 2. I never saw this one, because I hated the first one. Was I supposed to believe this situation? Dumb idea for a movie, poorly executed and acted. The trifecta.

3) The Blair Witch 2-I was very disappointed in this movie. I had high hopes dashed against the rocks.

2) The Blair Witch-NO!!! Love this movie for what it is. A creepy story, told almost totally off camera. Sure there was no big payoff at the end, but who cares. The mind warp was worth the ride, and I loved it.

1) The Grudge 2-Don't know if I would call it the worst film of all time, but it is pretty bad. I hate filmmakers who take a good idea, and make it into sequels to make certain no one ever remembers the good idea. All people remember is the sequel. Damn sequels.

Well I agreed with you a lot, but not on everything. Great post.
